Overview

The RNA200 Tornado ASIC is IEEE802.16e SoC implementing both PHY and MAC layers with OFDMA(TM) technology. The RNA200 ASIC is a state-of-the-art design utilizing 90-nanometer silicon technology with mixed signal cores (analog and digital) and an embedded ARM11 CPU.

The RNA200 is commercially used by world-wide ODM's for various applications. The RNA200 is interoperable with base-station from all leading vendors and with Runcom's base-station reference designs (RNE2000B & RNU2000N).

The RNA200 interfaces with various RFIC solutions to cover licensed and unlicensed spectral bands and has flexible host interfaces and device driver support.

Applications

The RNA200 is commercially deployed with various MSS products, such as:

  • Data Cards: PCMCIA, CF, Express Cards; USB/SDIO Dongles
  • Mobile Devices: PDA's, Handsets, Smart Phones
  • Module: Mini-Card modules (half size or full size) for laptops & UMPC
  • Fixed: Residential gateways and simple CPE applications

The RNA200 SoC implements IEEE802.16e scalable OFDMA programmable PHY and MAC layers and scheduler on the powerful ARM11 embedded CPU as well as an analog interface to the RF unit.
